Woodscape was awarded the contract from Carillion Construction Services to design, build and install the bespoke street furniture on site for First Street in Manchester city centre, working from the initial concept designed by Planit-IE Landscape Architects.
Covering over 20 acres of city centre heartland, First Street is a multi-media cultural scheme, the first piece of city designed to connect artistic creativity, with business and enterprise.
Solution
This urban street furniture range comprises FSC® certified Naturally Very Durable Hardwood, granite and stainless steel, combining contemporary aesthetics and strong defined lines, making it stand out in terms of form and function.
Eight EVO seats were installed along with a set of Seating Steps. The Steps are a bespoke product created specifically for First Street. Designed and manufactured in the UK they measured 16 linear metres x 1600mm wide.
Outcome
The project resulted in a vibrant urban space for both residents and workers to enjoy.
