IOTA were appointed to manufacture 16 bespoke steel planters in a range of sizes for a private residential development in Manchester. Royal Mills forms part of a larger mixed-use regeneration scheme in the Ancoats Urban Village development, and is situated amongst former listed and historically sensitive Victorian and Edwardian spinning mills.

The planters serve as both decorative and functional, affording parking divisions and pavement perimeter protection as well as providing a backdrop for directional road markings and signage.

The trough planters measured between 1,800 mm long by 400 mm wide to 4,800 mm long by 2,000 mm wide and stood at 700 mm tall, giving a total internal volume up to 1,600litres. The trough planters were made from 1.5 mm zintec steel and finished with a polyester powder coat.
