Transport for Greater Manchester commissioned IOTA to design and manufacture a range of bespoke, powder coated rectangular steel trough planters for the transport interchange at Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester.
As part of the improvements to the interchange, planters were provided in a range of scales, ranging from lengths of 2550mm to 6150mm. The planters were required to be robust and hard-wearing given the transport hubs' extensive footfall and as such manufactured from 3mm thick Zintec steel. The planters were powder coated to RAL 7040, Window Grey and were supplied in sections for on-site assembly. To provide a seamless and aesthetically pleasing continuous appearance, the connections between section lengths takes place below soil level.
