Here are some key tips for looking after your parking post.
• Good and proper use. Remember that parking posts are only a deterrent, not a force field, if you hit them they can get damaged so be careful!
• Regular cleaning. Most of the time warm soapy water will be enough to get your parking post shining again.
• Keep your post locked safely. By keeping your post locked, whether it’s up or down, you can increase its resistance to tampering and vandalism.
• Check fixings. If the bolts or ground fixings feel loose you may need to replace or re-set them.
• Check your coatings. All coatings can chip. AUTOPA galvanise all of our products to ensure longevity, as well as providing colour coated option. Although damaged paint is only cosmetic, damage to the galvanised coat can lead to rust. AUTOPA recommend using a zinc based primer to treat any areas of rust, before re-coating your product.
• Check your base plate. Frequently debris such as stones can get caught in the base plate, making it incredibly difficult to use your parking post. By regularly checking for, and removing such debris, you can reduce the chances of faults occurring.
