This early years area used to be plain tarmac and grass, which was not suitable to use in the winter. This design was put together following a consultation meeting with the teachers to inform us how they would like to use the space.

The area was divided up into zones and linked with a 100m sensory cycle track. The zones included a mini sports pitch, secret nature garden, music zone, water zone, teaching and performance zone, an outdoor classroom, a large fossil cove sand pit and enchanted forest adventure zone.

With all-weather surfaces installed to all areas (apart from the nature area) this space was transformed into a stimulating area for teaching, learning and playing all year round.
