Overview

NatraTex Cotswold® surfacing was identified as the most suitable surfacing for the car park at a Waitrose store in Malmesbury due to its specially developed binder that provides resilient and robust qualities.

Challenge

The store originally had a car park design that had been specified with resin bonded surfacing. However, concerns were raised over the durability of the product and whether it could withstand the high level of traffic.

Solution

After studying some NatraTex® samples, Simons Construction specified 6mm-thick NatraTex Cotswold® to be laid by Thornbury Surfacing. NatraTex Cotswold® has a fast and simple application that allows for easy and clear demarcation making it an easy specification for private and public sector projects such as car parks, highways, footpaths and cycle lanes.

Outcome

Laid at 30mm-thick across the car parking areas, NatraTex Cotswold® provides an aesthetically-pleasing finish that allows for clear demarcation of various zones to enhance the safety of the customers.

He continued, “The NatraTex Cotswold material was supplied over a two day period and it arrived on site within the times asked. The project has gone extremely well and I would definitely recommend Bituchem’s products for future works.”
