IOTA was commissioned by a sovereign wealth fund to provide bespoke powder-oated steel planters for two roof terraces, as part of the redevelopment of Grade A offices in the heart of St James's in London.

A total of 22 bespoke trough planters were supplied, each measuring 1200x400x600mm. The planters were manufactured in 1.5mm thick zintec steel, finished with a polyester powder coat in RAL 9006 [White aluminium].

The planter installation and planting was also carried out by IOTA. A Mona Tank 24 internal reservoir system was selected – measuring 900x200x150mm – and each planter was also lined, fertilised and mulched.

Hebe rakaiensis plants were selected, to provide ease of maintenance, year-round foliage and seasonal floral interest. Hebe rakaiensis also has lighter green foliage than other Hebe varieties, which brightens and adds colour against the tonal greys of the paving and furniture.

IOTA’s planters were recommended for this brief by furniture consultancy Operandum, with whom the company has also worked on a number of other high-profile projects, including at Savills new global headquarters in London.
