Custom concrete for Leuven (B)

Architecture practice AR+TE worked with urban planning consultancy SeARCH to deliver the redevelopment of the area surrounding Leuven station and the adjacent village of Kessel-Lo in Belgium and create a new public realm that was previously lacking.
The 75,000m2 development included parking for 900 cars and 2000 bicycles, two new hotels with conference facilities, a 2000 capacity nine-screen multiplex, 18,000m2 of offices, shops, apartments and other commercial space.
Solution
Urbastyle provided custom paving and benches for areas in between the new buildings.
Large-format Fasonado concrete slabs were produced in a size of 2800x800x120mm, in a grey finish.
Architectural concrete benches, measuring 2800mm, were produced in a grey finish.
Outcome
Urbastyle's custom products allow the bricks and floor slabs to sit harmoniously with concrete benches that play and communicate in a modern and attractive space for the inhabitants of the development.
