Italia-80 steel louvred panels
A new £9.6 million primary school in Tranent, East Lothian was opened in 2008 by the Scottish Secretary for Education,
The architectural brief for the design and construction demanded the highest standards and sustainable principles.
Lang+Fulton was asked to supply the gates to a large bin store and recycling area adjacent to the school building. This amounted to 7 pairs of double-leaf hinged gates which were fabricated to exacting dimensions and supplied with adjustable hinges to fit within the brickwork surround.
The design was developed by Lang+Fulton using Italia-80 steel louvred panels and 100x100x4 SHS posts to provide a robust and durable solution with the required level of visual screening. The gates were hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated in RAL7024.
The Scottish Secretary for Education praised the school as "an excellent example of the work that can be done in easing demands on the environment".
