Fencing and railings, Discovery Museum, Dundee
Three types of fencing were supplied for a the Discovery Museum, aprestigious waterfront location in Dundee on the the River Tay. The design was developed jointly with the City of Dundee Chief Engineer, creating bespoke fencing which made use of modular panels wherever possible to meet the project budget. Three types of fencing were supplied for a the Discovery Museum, aprestigious waterfront location in Dundee on the the River Tay.
Solution
The design was developed jointly with the City of Dundee Chief Engineer, creating bespoke fencing which made use of modular panels wherever possible to meet the project budget.

Roma-2 customised with bespoke handrail
Roma-3 customised with wave top and decorative top rail
Siena railings customised with 114mm diameter posts were ‘bent’ to carry the radiused extension panels and to create a pleasing, organic aesthetic. A special radiused section of increased depth was required through one part of the fence line and a small decorative panel was added to the double gate to maintain the continuity of the design.
Outcome
All the fencing was hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated to provide a durable, low maintenance finish to withstand the rigours of the coastal location.
