Bespoke steel planters – 10 Hammersmith Grove, West London
10 Hammersmith Grove is a new landmark office development in West London, immediately opposite the Lyric Theatre and Hammersmith Station. It delivers 109,556 sq ft of modern, high-quality offices and two restaurant units, together with significant new public realm adjacent to the busy Lyric Square. The first of two new Grade A office buildings to be built on the site, 10 Hammersmith Grove is a £50m development by Development Securities PLC.
Solution
Deacon Landscapes commissioned a total of 34 bespoke steel trough planters from IOTA for the public realm area of a standard size (L 1000 x W 400 x H 600mm), which were arranged in four separate continuous runs of multiple planters. To create a visually seamless surface planting, the intermediate planters have reduced-height ends, and are bolted together under the soil level. The planters are constructed from 1.5mm thick galvanised steel, fully-welded, faired and polished, and powder-coated to RAL 7031 (Blue grey).
