Challenge
North Staffordshire Hospital is undergoing a new refurbishment to provide a hospital fit for the 21st century. Bailey Streetscene was contracted to supply and install additional works to the main hospital, delivering quality bespoke products whilst working within the logistical limitations of an operating hospital area.
Timber dominates the main material for this project due to its combination of practical, aesthetic and environmental advantages. The natural material is warm and comforting making it suitable for renovation projects, complementing nicely with the contemporary, durable concrete seating.
Solution
Bailey Streetscene provided bespoke seating, walling, concrete seating, bespoke timber top seats and litter bins to suit the requirements of a working hospital.
Bailey Streetscene responsibilities:
- Initial design consultation
- Outlining costing proposals
- Bespoke design and visual modelling production via architect and contractor for client approval
- Accurate costing detail for final bespoke products
- Foundation - general layout, sequencing programmes, logistic and installation assessment
- Final budget analysis
- Project management
- Manufacture, supply, installation, site liaison
- O&M and RAMs documents produced
Outcome
This significant public space to the main hospital provides a new focus in this part of the hospital, upgrading the space to create a flexible and inviting environment.
