Building upon a strong local reputation for producing individual and distinctive play environments, Theories Landscapes was chosen to build the play area attached to the newly build Harefield Children’s Centre.
Theories Landscapes has an understanding of the principles of EYFS and create enabling play environments for nursery or children’s centre designs. Harefield CC was one such project. Theories create spaces where the children can experience self directed play opportunities including elements like sand and storage which can be accessed by the child themselves allowing them to choose their own activities.
Theories was chosen not only for their innovative play design reputation but their capacity to always deliver on time and on budget.
Theories was able to handle the entire project comprehensively from beginning to end, from consultation and design to building and aftercare. A design / build solution has once again demonstrated real value for money at the same time as its capacity to create extraordinary play environments and great play experiences.
Becky White, Senior Early Years Practitioner at Harefield said: "Our fantastic new play area has given the Children's Centre the opportunity to open it up for families to freely explore, be creative and imaginative when using the play space. All the children and parents enjoy looking at the lovely plants and shrubs and going on bug hunts to see what they can find. The children are developing their physical skills through the different climbing and balancing equipment which has been provided."
"The play area has given the setting the opportunity to develop and enhance the children's outdoor learning in a more exciting and adventurous way. It has shown parents / carers the importance of these experiences without having your traditional play space. It's a safe and friendly environment in which families enjoy coming to on a daily basis."
"The Children's Centre are extremely pleased with the design and layout of the play area, which was carried by the friendly designer. Harefield Children's Centre would recommend Theories in the future."
