As part of a £20m refurbishment, the Lower School, a former 18th century hunting lodge, required its main pathways to be resurfaced. The existing loose gravel paths were causing mud and drainage problems and were inaccessible to wheelchair users.

The Royal Ballet Lower School needed new pathways which would be wheelchair-friendly, durable enough to withstand the daily traffic of pupils and able to cope with occasional standing water issues.

Working to the clients high specification and tight deadline, Clearstone Paving designed and installed permeable resin bound paving for the first phase of a complete pathway refurbishment.

The client was delighted with the quality of the finish and his ability to power-wash the surface. The work was finished in time for a prestigious gala event and the visit of the school's president, HRH The Prince Of Wales, in May 2009.
