British Wild Flower Plants

British Wild Flower Plants is one of the largest growers of native plants in the UK. The company can recreate most habitats and satisfy the requirements of even the most difficult specification.

The nursery has provided plants for gardens, estates, road improvement works, land reclamation, water treatment reed beds, SUDS projects, coastal reclamation projects, green roofs and conservation sites. It has close ties with Wildlife Trusts, Butterfly Conservation, Buglife, and the RSPB.

Native plant stock

Over 350 species of native plants are stocked. Species are drawn from the nursery’s own seed collections or from known provenance native sources. Flora Locale Code of Practice is complied with. Declarations can be provided where provenance is important for a project.

Jumbo plugs

Young plants in 55cm3 cells with good rootstock.

Plugs are generally sold in trays of 52 or 104 as either single species or as a mixed pack.

The plugs are generally bigger than most that you may have seen and are usually referred to as “jumbo” plugs within the industry.

9cm (Half-Litre) Pots

Established plants which can be purchased singly or as part pre-selected packs containing 18 or 24 plants.

1 or 2 Litre Pots

Sometimes available from stock, plants can be grown to order for larger quantities.

Sustainability

All plants are grown in peat-free compost and are propogated with the minimal use of chemical agents. Biological pest control is actively used on the nursery in order to protect the wildlife of our local area and that of your site.

Availability

Species are available most of the year as plugs or in pots. Deliveries are made throughout the UK and Europe. The online shop allows you to buy plugs in multiples of 8 per species to make up your own selections.

Consultancy

In addition to seed collection and contract growing, the company offers a consultancy service, site visits and botanical surveys throughout Britain.
