Lost Art
Lost Art Ltd is committed to the preservation and development of traditional crafts and arts. The company was borne out of a search for historically accurate furnishings and services for landscape restorations.
Lost Art designs and manufactures a range of historic park and garden furnishings, as well as specialising in the restoration and reproduction of cast iron furniture, railings and fountains.
From individual items of furniture to full park restoration and urban regeneration projects, Lost Art's utilisation of traditional arts and skills of British craftsmen means that the company can provide high quality and historically authentic work in metal, wood and stone.
The company can provide expertise in the design and sourcing of unusual sections of metal that may be required for historically accurate or specially commissioned work.
Lost Art has brought together a team of metalworkers - blacksmiths and whitesmiths, a stonemason, pattern makers, carpenters, wicker workers and decorative painters.
The team includes Lancashire's last remaining wheelwright - a particualrly specialised and demanding aspect of carpentry and metalworking.
This range of skills means that original or re-crafted works can be produced that are as individual as the landscapes they enhance. Reproduction work can be carried out to faithfully reproduce originals, retaining the fine detail that Victorian pieces are famed for.
