Yennadon Stone
The Yennadon quarry is situated on the beautiful south western confines of Dartmoor National Park. This most picturesque of locations is frequented by numerous ramblers and horse riders and as a company we recognise the sensitivities associated with working in this privileged environment and the expectations of the many visitors to the area. Yennadon work closely with the National Park to maintain the standards applicable to this special and beautiful part of West Devon.
Dartmoor Rustic Stone has been quarried for over 100 years and since the 1930’s through several generations of the same family. With advancements in technology it became economical to re-open the quarry in 2004 and through a major investment in plant and machinery, significant improvements to operations have been implemented. These developments combined with the traditional skills of local Devon quarrymen ensure that Yennadon produces a consistently high quality natural product.
Yennadon stone have mobile saws which are containerised, self sufficient and operated by highly experienced personnel. All that is required is an area of hardstanding for operation/storage and the supply of water and suitable run off.
The saws are designed for the high output of building stone - up to 7 tonnes per day of finished product and this can lead to some exciting opportunities in recycling, re-use and demolition - offering significant environmental benefits along the way, and unique planning opportunities/solutions.
