Key info
Tillers Turf Company Ltd is a leading grower and national supplier of cultivated turf for landscape and sport.
The company's core business is growing turf for use in landscaping on both large and small projects nationwide. Tillers Turf has also developed a range of wildflower turf suitable for use in the landscape, on green roofs and for swales and basins. With environmental awareness at the forefront of modern development and design these products offer solutions to current legislation, help bring sterile landscapes to life in full colour and increase biodiversity.
Tillers Turf also offers a CPD presentation on Turf and Wildflower Turf Production, Specification, Laying, and Sustainable Maintenance in the Landscape.
Tillers Turf has established an international reputation as specialist growers of turf for golf courses. Turf for greens, tees, fairways and bunkers is supplied throughout the UK, France, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg and Ireland.
The evaluation of new grass species and mixtures is an important brief for Tillers' R&D department, and this has led to the commercial production of RTF turf, Crested Hairgrass turf, Rootzone turf and Wildflower turf. The demands of climate change and the need to ensure the sustainability of landscapes, dictate that the company explores grasses that can tolerate weather extremes and can thrive under low maintenance regimes.
Director, Tim Fell, is a former Chairman of the Turf Growers Association (TGA) and current President of the European Turf Producers Association (ETP). He is an enthusiastic ambassador for turf, and believes that turf has a crucial part to play in the sustainability of landscapes both today and in the future.
Tillers Turf Company is a founder member of the TGA which sets strict quality standards for turf suppliers in the UK. They are members of the European Turf Producers Association, corporate members of the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI), and members of British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).
