Lappset Group Oy is one of the leading manufacturers of playground equipment worldwide.
Founded in 1968 the company began by creating innovative wooden playground equipment. In the 1980s Lappset became the first company in the industry to invest in computer-aided design (CAD).
Lappset design products to make play fun and educational at the same time. Play equipment combines carefully thought-out design and play-enticing colours with in-depth scientific research into the needs of playing children. Straightforward product design invites ideas for completely new kinds of play while also supporting the childs social and motor development.
Lappset has grown from a one-man band to an international group with subsidiaries in five different countries. Over 70% of the groups turnover comes from overseas and exports that span more than 40 countries.
Awards achieved include:
-National award recognising exemplary entrepreneurship in 1993
-National export award from the President of the Republic of Finland in 1995
-International Fennia Prize design award from Design Forum Finland and Fennia Group to Lappsets Axiom range in 2005
-NOT 2007 Innovation Prize to the SmartUs concept (in connection with the Dutch National Exhibition on Education)
-Top nominee to Axiom in the Index:Award 2005 competition
