Urban Fencing supplied and installed 150m of BPC-01 timber pedestrian and cycle guardrail along the entrance road at Lancing College, West Sussex. Urban Fencing carried out a full assessment of the project, specifying a 1.1m handrail height with an additional third rail for extra protection.

The Site

Lancing College is a well-known independent boarding and day school in the South Downs, West Sussex, founded in 1848. Its Grade II listed Victorian Gothic Chapel is an historic local landmark.

The Brief

The entrance road needed a pedestrian and cycle protection system that would provide a reliable physical barrier between path users and passing vehicles, while suiting the character of an historic school campus.

The Solution: BPC-01 (3-Rail Configuration)

Urban Fencing's BPC-01 range was specified, upgraded from the standard 2-rail configuration to the 3-rail (3C) version for added protection.
