Context

Alton Gateway is a part of a larger development in this Hampshire town which also includes a care home and some apartments along with changes to the highway and railway bridge. It has created a new public space which acts as a dramatic entrance to the town.

Street furniture to welcome visitors is integral to this new public space. Planted up with wildflower and grass areas, it preserves the site of an anti-tank weapon which was issued to the Home Guard during WWII which are accessed along the thoughtfully created paths.

Work done

Hornbeck supplied Mettro benches and planters to help create a relaxing environment to enhance the visitor experience.
