Context

Massey & Harris was invited by Planit to bring a bold new play concept to life at Ancoats Green play area in Manchester, with a bespoke bottle-themed multiplay unit, referencing the former flint glass bottle works, as the centrepiece of its landscape design.

Work undertaken

Massey & Harris began by shaping the bold bottle form, then layered in playful routes and flint-glass-inspired details that celebrate Ancoats’ industrial past.

Each section was crafted in-house by the company's fabrication team, with a modular design that made manufacture, transport and assembly smooth from start to finish.

The installation team navigated tight site access using a spider crane, assembling the structure section by section with precision and care.
