Context

Chris Nangle Furniture, working alongside Planet-ie, designed and manufactured bespoke benches for the Royal Albert Dock’s new ‘Pocket Garden’ spaces in Liverpool. The benches are manufactured from reclaimed Ekki timber, salvaged from the historic Barmouth Viaduct.

The project was commissioned to create durable, accessible and environmentally-conscious seating that would enhance the new green areas at one of the city's most iconic spaces.

Work undertaken

The Ekki sections were carefully prepared and lightly sculpted to create robust, comfortable and visually-striking seating. The reclaimed timber was then paired with bespoke metalwork.

The use of huge Ekki sections, known for its exceptional durability, makes them perfectly suited to the dockside environment.

The company designs beautiful furniture that is not only built to last but also tells a story of sustainability and craftsmanship.

Outcome

The resulting benches are a testament to Chris Nangle Furniture's ethos of transforming salvaged materials into high-quality, long-lasting products. They are designed to be super durable and accessible for all.
