Context
Public Spaces worked with Dutch partner Public Outdoor Creations to design a series of movable parklet street furniture systems for two Irish Councils.
Featuring planters, benches and tables in different varieties and sizes, the parklets provide towns with the flexibility of being able to safely extend seating areas into single car parking spaces and in doing so extend the pavement.
Project detail
The first parklet was delivered to Cork County Council for Bantry Bay. Following feedback from residents and visitors, the Council decided to order another two.
A variant of the parklet was supplied to Kildare County Council to enhance the outdoor dining facilities in Leixlip Village, which also resulted in positive feedback from the client, residents and visitors.
