Challenge

IOTA was commissioned to design, manufacture, supply and install 10 bespoke zinc-clad steel planters to green three communal terraces for residents at the McEwan, a Build to Rent (BTR) apartment building in Edinburgh.

Solution

The planters had varying dimensions and arrangements, the largest being 6000 (l) x 600 (w) x 450mm (h), and were manufactured from 2mm-thick zintec steel, clad with 1.2mm-thick zinc sheet, supplied pre-patinated.

About the McEwan

The McEwan apartment building is owned by the Moda Group under its Moda Living brand. It comprises 337 interior-designed rental homes with state-of-the-art amenities, including residents' gym and studio, cinema room, co-working space, resident lounges and roof terraces, plus 24/7 security.
