Challenge

Langley Design was tasked with ensuring the courtyard at Brookside Academy, a nursery and primary school in Somerset, could be used to its full potential as an outdoor classroom, as well as providing an area for children to unwind and play, even in unpredictable weather.

Solution

The company was involved with the project from start to finish, initially brainstorming ideas and solutions with Wotton Donoghue Architects, then working closely with the school to guarantee everyone was happy with the end product.

Langley Design manufactured, supplied and installed a Sheldon canopy shelter (SCP313) with a robust, non-fragile apex roof, durable hardwood iroko timber frame, and galvanised steel supports.

The company's bespoke manufacturing capabilities were key on this project which involved working in an existing, enclosed courtyard. The ability to make its products to required sizes was essential in allowing everyone to get the most out of this outdoor space.

Outcome

With its flexible approach to manufacturing and installing the company was able to overcome all obstacles and ended up providing a wonderful covered area for the whole courtyard.

The canopy is sure to stand the test of time and will allow children to enjoy this newly rejuvenated outdoor area for many years.
