Langley Design provided practical and durable cycle storage solutions for the brand new state-of-the-art Abacws Building, home to Cardiff University’s Schools of Mathematics & Computer Science and Informatics, bringing both departments together into one world-leading facility. Designed by Stride Treglown and constructed by ISG, this represents the University’s largest campus upgrade for a generation, investing £600m in its education future.

Work undertaken

Langley's versatile Malford cycle shelter MCS201 was the basis for the shelters, adapting to the sizes and height requirements of the cycle racks located below. The Malford MCR205 two-tier cycle rack is a high-density solution, featuring high-level and low-level storage enabling an increased capacity.

Langley also installed its MCR206 semi-vertical bike rack offering secure spaces in a reduced footprint.

The company's steel cycle shelters come as standard with a galvanised finish providing long-lasting protection against the elements. However, they can also be powder-coated to a specific colour to match a project's particular colour scheme.
