Challenge

isGroup was appointed to deliver a wayfinding and interpretation signage solution to highlight areas of historical interest throughout Boston in Lincolnshire.

Solution

Working alongside environmental designers, isGroup was able to offer a cost-effective wayfinding solution to Boston town centre by visiting all sign locations and identifying where signs needed to be replaced.

Following these visits, isGroup created six new double-sided Way2Go totem signs to be strategically situated at locations across the town centre.

Mapping Illustrations

Each monolith was manufactured in-house at isGroup’s headquarters from aluminium, with UV-printed glass panels presenting historical graphics on one side and mapping illustrations on the reverse. The design on the lower section of each unit was clean and simple, featuring a logo outlining Boston’s St Botolph’s Church, while the sides were dressed with ‘BOSTON’ text.

Outcome

The versatility of isGroup’s Way2Go system allowed Placemarque to create a customised sign concept for Boston that presented effective wayfinding information and controlled budgets.
