Phi Group was approached by consulting engineers Clarke Nicholls Marcell to provide a solution for a retaining wall at Kingston Hospital in Kingston upon Thames.
The NHS Foundation Trust was selling one of its old buildings for the construction of a new care home, and part of the agreement was to provide a retaining wall to support the land to enable the future development.
Solution
Phi Group provided design details to enable the Trust to tender the demolition package, which Phi's works formed part of. Working for the successful contractor, eBrit Services Ltd, Phi Group undertook the design, supply and installation of an Andacrib concrete crib retaining wall to provide a robust, maintenance-free solution that met all of the client's requirements.
Access was limited and careful co-ordination by all parties was key to making the project a success.
This is a good example of how early involvement with a project means Phi Group can really add value.
