When asked to transform the palliative care garden at Whipps Cross Hospital, Pro Landscapes Essex used EverEdge ProEdge steel edging to create the curved borders.
The team was asked to landscape the gardens and worked closely with KRH Contracts Ltd to re-work the overgrown gardens.
The hospital wanted a private area for patients to be able to relax. Easy access was as essential and important to the project as the aesthetics.
Solution
EverEdge ProEdge steel edging was used in the design as a simple, unobtrusive way of creating the curved edges. EverEdge steel edging can be formed to virtually any shape so was the perfect choice in this design.
Outcome
The design is based on a Japanese theme using curved edges, ornamental grasses, shrubs and plants. The transformation of the garden has created a space to bring peace and solitude to the patients and staff.
