Products supplied
1200 (l) x 1200 (w) x 700mm (h) planters were manufactured from 2.0mm-thick zintec steel, polyester powder coated to Mars 2525 Sablé [YX355F] from Interpon's Collection Futura range.
Designed to be both moveable and suitable for tree planting, the planter design included attachment points for a rootball anchoring system; plus 120 (w) x 95mm (h) channels in the base, for movement via forklift or pallet truck.
Outcome
IOTA’s planters formed part of extensive public realm improvements in the areas of Bishop Street / Silver Street (the Cultural Quarter). These improvements provide enhanced connections to the town centre from the new hotel site and North Shore area; plus the pedestrianisation of Silver Street, to create an attractive, safe, family-friendly environment benefiting from minimal vehicle movement.
