Context

Addagrip approved contractor Proshield Contractors Ltd was asked to create a practical decorative surface for the outdoor area of this private property in Wigan.that would be easy to maintain and maximise the usable space. 

Challenge

This client was looking for a practical landscaping solution that would be easy to maintain, and would help maximise the amount of usable space.

Solution

Terrabase Rustic resin-bound was chosen as the ideal paving solution. It is a patented resin-bound system that uses a 6-10mm aggregate, and provides a hard-wearing, porous finish without the need for an invasive asphalt or concrete base.

For this project, the groundwork preparations involved digging out of the existing soil and the creation of an MOT Type 3 sub-base ready for the contractor to install 30m2 of Terrabase Rustic. The client selected a Rustic Gold blend to create the patio and pathway, delineated with red block paved edging to match the house.

Outcome

The end result is a contemporary, low-maintenance garden scheme that can be easily maintained. The Terrabase Rustic surface is seamless, porous, smooth underfoot and can be kept clean by power washing.

The project was completed in July 2019, ready for the Summer.
