Resin bound porous pathways at RHS Rosemoor Cool Garden
Over 320m2 of Terrabound resin bound porous surfacing from Addagrip was installed on the pathways of the new Cool Garden designed by multi-award-winning designer Jo Thompson. Because the design has a strong focus on water, due to the high rainfall being a feature of the region, the garden features a series of curving rills which make their way through the garden

The natural aggregate contrasts the planting scheme

Over 320m2 of Terrabound resin surfacing was installed on the pathways through the garden. Because the design has a strong focus on water, due to the high rainfall being a feature of the region, the garden features a series of curving rills which make their way through the garden, disappearing and reappearing to flow into the pond at the bottom of the sloping site. It provides an example of how effectively a designed landscape can accommodate heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
Terrabound resin-bound porous surfacing was chosen for the curving pathways that follow the rills and form organic shaped planting beds, helping to reduce surface water run-off. A 6mm Hazelnut natural aggregate blend was selected to contrast with the cool coloured planting scheme and complement the dry stone walling.
Outcome
The installation was completed in time for the opening in July 2019.
