Context

Cambridge University Press publishes resources which are accessible across the globe, in print, online and other digital formats. With over 50 offices around the globe, Cambridge University Press distributes products to nearly every country in the world.

Challenge

With deliveries, staff and visitors, the car parks at the main office in Cambridge are constantly busy and required automatic rising arm barriers to control vehicular access.

Product supplied

Frontier Pitts manufactured their FBX model of automatic barrier in a stainless steel finish at the request of the Cambridge University Press to complement the look of the area.

FBX is a popular model of automatic barrier as it is driven by a rapid-action torque motor. With boom lengths available up to 6m, and up to 5m with lower folding skirts, the torque motors provide 100% duty rating and are instantly reversible.

Outcome

The barriers play a key role in providing access control to the car parks and ensuring that drivers adhere to the one-way system.

Testimonial

“The barriers have been operational now for 3 months, and as well as looking great with the stainless steel cabinets they have been very reliable”
- Rob Marshall, Environment Manager, Cambridge University Press
