Addagrip approved contractor True Grip Ltd undertook an unusually challenging installation for a hotel at Chessington World of Adventures that saw the team working in water.

The existing rubber crumb surfacing at the Savanna Splash swimming pool at the African themed Safari Hotel was failing and the client sought an alternative surfacing system that would be suitable for a pool area.

Terrabound resin bound surfacing is a porous system is decorative, hard wearing and comfortable underfoot. With BBA certification, the product has been tested for chlorine resistance and meets slip resistance requirements, making it perfect for pool surround projects.

A 3mm Terracotta aggregate blend was selected to replace the existing red rubber crumb and True Grip carried out the installation in one day to ensure minimum disruption for guests.

The biggest challenge faced by the contractor was that the only access to the application area was via the pool which meant that the team had to wade through water to reach it.
