Pupils at Woodingdean Primary School are delighted after the play equipment they selected to be installed in their infants’ playground has become a reality.

Requirement

Showing signs of wear and tear, the school decided it was time to replace their much-loved play equipment and give its Key Stage 1 pupils access to new play facilities. The brief was to come up with something new that would provide a selection of challenging items on an adventure play tower unit, including updated playground surfacing.

Solution

Featuring three roofed play towers connected by two bridges, a modified Captain Mannering provides the space and capacity to satisfy young people of all ages and abilities. It contains an assortment of climbing components, including a drawstring bridge, log ramp, sloped rock climbing ramp, slide and fireman’s pole.

The area was completed with a new, vibrant playground surface using brightly coloured wet pour surfacing, along with the addition of a hopscotch and green caterpillar design to bring the area to life even more and provide additional opportunities for playtime.

Outcome

The Key Stage 1 play area at Woodingdean Primary school has been upgraded into a vibrant play area that, with its large, wooden adventure play structure and colourful playground surfacing, encourages endless opportunities for active play.

“What a fantastic job Sovereign have done in designing and building our new playground equipment. The whole process has been entirely smooth and the results are amazing. The children adore it that much I think we may be back sooner than we thought! Thank you from me and all the children.”
