Challenge

Blairquhan Castle, built in 1821, is based on a design by the Scottish architect William Burn and is of one of the finest Regency castles in Scotland. It required new surfacing for the main courtyard and fountain garden area.

Solution

The client, having seen the Addagrip Terrabound Resin Bound product installed last year at Abbotsford House, asked Resarf to install Terrabound at this building too. Terrabound is a permeable, hard wearing, low maintenance decorative surfacing system utilising natural aggregates. At Blairquhan Castle a 6mm Rhine Gold was installed to complement the aesthetics of the historic building.
