Terrabound resin bound at Kelvingrove Amphitheatre
Ahead of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Addagrip contractor, Redlough Landscapes, has been involved with the redevelopment of the 1924 Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre in Kelvingrove Park.
Solution
Main contractor, CCG Construction, engaged Redlough Landscapes to install a fully porous Resin Bound surface to the terraces and an area to the front of bandstand. The contract was completed using 1,500sqm of Terrabound. To accentuate the colours of red brick and clay tiles on the bandstand itself 6mm Terracotta aggregate was selected by the architect.
Being a porous surface allows the very narrow and tight terraces to be free draining, which avoids having to engineer complicated drain systems and this helped keep the overall project cost within budget.
