ORCA cycle lane separators are designed to provide light segregation to protect but not trap cyclists
ORCA cycle lane separators are designed to provide light segregation to protect but not trap cyclists.
Proven in a series of kerb strike tests at an independent test centre which included impact at 20 / 30 / 40mph, impact under heavy breaking, scuffing along the side and scrubbing along the top surface, demonstrated not only the strength of the products but also the energy absorption which minimises any potential damage to the side walls of a tyre that can lead to a puncture.
The product is classed as a kerb and must not sit on the line otherwise this would conflict with current TSRGD guidelines.
Typical spacing are from 2.5–10m depending on the application or location.
