Challenge

Here at Livingreen Design, bespoke projects are our speciality and this project really was a Livingreen special. We were approached to create 50 cube planters in a range of three sizes (50cm, 70cm, 80cm) for a 5 star London hotel. The cubes look simple enough but the exterior detail is very hard to achieve so a tremendous amount of work went into creating a perfect tool for the moulds. 

Solution

For these bespoke cubes we created 3 perfect tools which were then used to create the moulds to begin production. The production required more time than usual due to the level of detail on the exterior of the planter, we had to make sure that there was enough composite fitted around the outside so it would fill the smaller pattern. Once all the 50 planters were created they were then individually sanded and then hand textured by our highly skilled technicians. 

Outcome

Once all of the planters were finished they looked expertly finished and uniform through all the sizing ranges. The planters were delivered in batches and the customer loved the detail achieved and they looked great within the hotel.
