The barrier was constructed in Bramhall, Stockport, for Multibuild Ltd to reduce noise from a railway near to a new residential area.

The 52m long, 2.5m high barrier features one side of living willow and one side of metal security fencing, with a 240mm acoustic absorbent RockDelta core.

Four months after planting, the willow had produced strong new growth, and blended well with additional decorative planting to the site.
