Rotagrid is a self adhesive pavement reinforcement system manufactured from high strength glass fibres with a protective polymer coating.

Glass exhibits high tensile strength at low elongation (typically below 4%) which is essential as bituminous pavements can crack at elongations as low as 1%.

Rotagrid allows the use of thinner overlays removing the need for undesirable deep planing or expensive and time consuming kerb lifting.

Rotagrid is compatible with all modern surfacing materials and can be recycled.

Rotagrid can be used to minimise:

  • reflective cracking from flexible and rigid pavements
  • cracking at road widening joints
  • rutting
  • lean-mix road base cracking

ABG's Technical Department can offer scheme specific advice on appropriate grades of Rotagrid for differing situations and appropriate inlay or overlay materials.

Applications

  • Control of reflective cracking
  • Control of cracking at road widening joints
  • Rut prevention
  • Lean mix road base cracking

Benefits

  • Permits thinner underlays
  • Eliminates requirement for deep planing
  • Compatible with all modern surfacing
  • Versatile
  • Works in both new-build and maintenance
  • Withstands asphalt laying temperatures
