The Polystorm range of modular geocellular structures is used for the control and management of surface water. The structures are designed to provide retention, attenuation or infiltration, primarily for deeper applications.

They can accommodate a wide range of traffic loadings, from pedestrianised areas to large HGV parks. They can withstand vertical loads of up to 80 tonnes/m2.

Installation

Polystorm modular cells are assembled together to form a structure of any shape or size.

The modular structure can then be wrapped in an impermeable membrane (for attenuation) or permeable membrane (for infiltration) to control the surface water entering the tank.

The units are lightweight and easy to handle and have unique rounded corners to prevent punctures to the membrane during the installation process.

With the use of a RIDGISTORMSeparate silt trap and RIDGISTORMcheck flow control device, sediments can be removed before entering the tanks and then discharged at a set rate.

Product options

Polystorm R is the standard cell for trafficked and loaded applications at greater depths including housing, commercial and infrastructure projects. It has a compressive strength of 61 tonnes/m2.

Polystorm is used for attenuation or infiltration under trafficked and loaded areas at greater depths. It has a compressive strength of 44 tonnes/m2.

Polystorm Xtra is designed for deeper burial depths and very heavily trafficked applications. It has a compressive strength of 83 tonnes/m2.

Polystorm Lite is designed for non-trafficked landscaped and pedestrianised areas. It has a compressive strength of 20 tonnes/m2.

Access and maintenance

To complement the range of Polystorm modular cells, two options are available for access and maintenance purposes.

Polystorm Access provides a 1x0.5m vertical shaft within a Polystorm geocellular structure to enable surface access for remote camera inspection and maintenance activities, such as flushing and rodding.

Polystorm Inspect provides a tunnel along the length of a fully installed Polystorm structure to enable access for lateral inspection and maintenance.

Manufacture and composition

Polystorm, Polystorm Xtra, Polystorm Inspect and Polystorm Access are manufactured from virgin polypropylene.
Polystorm-R and Polystorm Lite are manufactured from recycled polypropylene.
All materials are 100% recyclable at the end of their usable life.

  • 95% void ratio for high water storage capacity and lower excavation and disposal costs
  • BBA approved for Polystorm Lite, Polystorm-R and Polystorm

Accessories

Shear connectors, inspection and treatment modules, geotextiles, geomembranes, vents, upstream and downstream chambers complete the system.
