Ruskins is expert at moving and planting large trees up to 20cm in diameter using tree spades, or for larger trees, a rootball, frame and crane technique.
Ruskins' fleet of tree spades includes the largest tree spade in the UK.
The Stocker 8 is a 2.16m tree spade that can move trees up to 20cm+ in diameter.
Transplanting allows specimens to be moved:
- directly to new locations
- to safe temporary storage areas
- off-site completely for replanting elsewhere
Trees on development sites, including trees with Preservation Orders, can be transplanted (with local authority approval) to create access or increase plot size.
The optimum time to transplant trees is from October to March, although transplanting can be undertaken at other times of year with additional care.
Accredited staff
All staff are CSCS and RWSA accredited and work in established, experienced teams.
Offsite storage service
When space is limited on site, Ruskins can store and care for specimens, returning and planting them when the site is ready.
Operational area
Work is undertaken throughout the UK.
Clients
Include local authorities, golf courses, developers, horticultural organisations and private individuals.
