Products used Normandie bin bays - solid recycled plastic

Worthing Homes chose Normandie bin bay panels from Goplastic, and uniquely designed bays which also incorporated large clothes drying areas, as part of an external project at Pearson’s Retreat, Worthing.

The original timber bin bays had seen better days and were in much need of repair or replacement.

– Worthing Homes

"Sustainability and playing our part in the Carbon Neutral agenda have been a part of the Worthing Homes ethos for many years now. For this reason we are continually looking at new products and ways to help us reduce our carbon footprint. GoPlastic have given us a perfect sustainable solution for separating different outdoor areas.

At one of our larger sheltered schemes we recently undertook works to the external areas. We needed to create new ‘hides’ for the refuse area and GoPlastic’s Normandie bin bays made out of 100% recycled plastic proved to be the perfect solution. In fact they were so perfect we have also used this system to create enclosed rotary drying areas.

The best thing is that not only are they 100% recycled plastic but they won’t splinter or crack like other materials would so they will look great for many years to come."

– Nick Cooper, Cheesmur Building Contractors (who installed the bin bays)

"The transformation is great, and the panels being delivered fully assembled made for a very quick and easy installation. We’re impressed with the rigidity and overall look of this product. Prompt delivery, great communication and the ability to re-tool and manufacture brackets to suit this particular installation, made this project an easy one."

Benefits of recycled plastic

Recycled plastic has historically been considered ‘functional’, but with design teams on board, this material is now considered a premium choice as it’s benefits often outweigh the more traditional choices of timber or steel.

  • Splinter-free
  • Rot-proof
  • Maintenance-free
  • Extrememly durable
  • No need for cyclical maintenance or major replacement programmes
  • Various panel heights and widths
  • Choice of colours
  • Using recycled products can help organisations meet their sustainable obligations in the built environment
