Wicksteed installed new inclusive play equipment at the playground of the ancestral home of Ulysees S Grant, the 18th President of the United States, now a visitor attraction.
Ulysees S Grant’s great grandfather John Simpson was born in a farmhouse just outside Ballygawley, Northern Ireland. The original ancestral homestead where the playground is located has been preserved and is open to visitors all year round.
The existing U.S. Grant Homestead play park playground was given a much needed makeover with new equipment added to boost the play value of the space, including a Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant wheelchair-accessible Swirl roundabout, an inclusive 1.5m trampoline, and a basket seat swing.
The outdoor play area near Ballygawley features a mix of some of Wicksteed's best dynamic play products and sensory play items; four interactive play panels were positioned at wheelchair height and are suitable for younger children and anyone with sensory needs.
