The existing playground setting for Kingswood Nursery School, which featured wetpour surfacing, was in need of being redesigned and refurbished. The school wanted an area suitable for 2 and 3 year-olds to play in safely all year round. As a small school without a caretaker, it also needed the new area to be as maintenance free as possible. Most importantly, it needed to be fun, but with challenge and adventure for the children.
During the consultation stage the playground consultant discussed objectives and the setting’s vision for the space, with a water feature being key. The water feature is a great way for children to develop their upper body strength, and also a place for the playground's mud kitchen. The children had also said they wanted a tunnel and slide.

"We met with several companies and asked them to help us make our plans into reality. We felt that Timotay had truly listened to what ideas we had and then had improved on them, designing a beautiful space that captured our vision. The consultant who worked with us was always on the end of the phone to answer queries from us and from Governors. She came back for repeat visits until we felt we got it just right!"
