CORE Drive™ 50-35HD gravel stabiliser grids have been used to create a flat, firm and puddle-free domestic driveway in Bedfordshire. The project required a gravel stabiliser that could withstand and cope with day-to-day traffic, was low-cost, easy to maintain, eco-friendly and SuDS-compliant.
Solution
The Garden Company Ltd specified CORE Drive™ 50-35HD gravel stabiliser grids as a practical solution that would ensure that the driveway was well equipped to encounter the daily traffic.
This particular grid was selected for its capability to withstand frequent use, as well as remaining consistent in its ability to retain gravel, manage weed growth and offer a hard standing and fully SuDS-compliant surface.
Using a gravel stabilisation grid meant the existing surface could be utilised as part of the sub-base, producing a significant cost saving and improving the environmental impact of the works.
The gravel stabiliser stops gravel migration so there are no issues with rutting, and the porous surface allows water to flow through avoiding surface water build up maintaining a clean surface for pedestrians.
Outcome
The client can enjoy a gravel driveway that will never have dips or bumps and will sufficiently drain rather than have water pooling in spots.
