Context

Punto Design, in co-operation with IKEA, took part in the landscaping and installation of an outdoor fitness workout site at one of the most modern parks in Yekaterinburg, built in 2019 near the MEGA shopping centre.

Project detail

The 13,500m2 territory features an eco-style children’s playground, an amphitheatre for concerts and lectures, tennis tables and a workout area. Punto Design also took part in the project to improve these facilities.

The park is divided into several thematic areas: a landscaped square, recreation area, special events area, children’s playground, multifunctional sports area for working out, and a square with a fountain.

The Ural national identity was very important to the project, and was embodied in a number of elements of local mythology. For example, references to fairytales can be found in the children’s playground.

Eco-style is at the heart of site's creation. Architects combined Scandinavian style and the Ural colour, and the merits of such a collaboration are noticeable in a large amount of wood and wood chips, which serve as a shock-absorbing coating. The park is easily accessible to people of low-mobility - it is easy to drive up to each site in a wheelchair.

Outdoor gym

In addition to a dozen shells, the workout area is equipped with QR codes with training programs, enabling any visitor to the park to try out the Punto Fit equipment.
