Althon has released a new range of precast concrete headwalls designed to suit steep banks or site conditions that have little depth from back to front for installation.
The new N range of splayed wing wall headwalls is manufactured to the same standards as Althon's Sewers for Adoption headwalls, and can be used on Section 104 Agreements where the sewers are to be adopted by the local water company.
The headwalls are cast with the opening in the back wall to suit the pipe diameter and material of the pipe being used. Multiple pipe openings can be cast, including elliptical, square or rectangular culvert openings. Pipe openings can also be cast into the wing walls.
There are three sizes available in the N range, catering for pipe sizes up to and including 1500mm. Each size of N headwall comes with three depths of toe and five back wall heights, with a wing wall profile of approximately 1:3 to suit most applications.
